FAQ:

Q. We want to update our cabinets, what is your process and how much does it cost vs. replacement?
A. We start off by preparing the kitchen by masking all surfaces that are not to be painted. Next, we remove all the doors and drawer fronts to begin preparing those in our shop. Then, we clean and sand all surfaces that will be painted. Next, we prime all surfaces with (2) coats of primer and then top coat with (2) coats of finish paint, sanding between every new coat. When everything is finished, we re-install the doors and drawers and add any new or existing hardware back on and clean the area.
The cost can vary depending on a few variables such as needing to drill holes for new hardware or wood fill holes that will no longer be used, grain filling if requested, patching of bad dings in the wood and caulking if requested - it is roughly 1/4 the cost of buying new cabinets and having them installed and is much less invasive and much faster. Most sets of cabinets can be completed in a week. For an average size kitchen you can expect to pay between $3,500-$6,000 depending on extras stated above.
Q. How much does it cost to paint?
A. The cost for each project varies quite drastically depending upon the scope of work and the materials that are to be used. For example a 10x10 room can vary from $300-$600 depending on the scope of work to be done and the material to be used in the room.

Q. Why might your estimate be higher than a competitor?
A. The most common item that creates a price difference between us and a competitor is the material quality. We use high grade paints and stains from Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore while other companies may use mid-grade or lower from either one of those retailers or a lower quality supplier. Another difference in price could result from overhead pertaining to the next question.

Q. Are you licensed and insured?
A. Painting contractors are not required to be licensed by the state of Illinois, however, we are insured with liability and workman's compensation insurance so you have nothing to worry about.

Q. How long does it take to paint?
A. The length of a project varies. Most of the residential painting we do can be completed in less than a week, however, an entire house with walls, ceiling and trim could take up to a couple weeks. Commercial painting projects can take longer depending on the size of the building(s). Throughout the entire project, we make sure to keep you very informed of the timeline.

Q. How do you apply the paint?
A. We use a variety of application methods; from brush to roller to airless/HVLP spray application. Our method of application will depend on what best suits your particular situation and your comfort level, but it will always be the method that will provide you with the best quality finish possible.
Q. How many people work on your painting crews?
A. The size of our crews will vary depending on the Scope Of Work to be completed. We typically utilize crews of 2-6 painting professionals to maximize productivity.
Q. Okay, I have hired you to work on my home - how do I get it ready for you?
A.
Interior - Our painting crews protect all your furniture, fixtures, and floor coverings when they prepare the area, however we ask that you clear the room of small items and breakables.

Exterior - We ask that trees and shrubbery be trimmed back approximately two feet to provide space to comfortably work on the surface to be painted/stained. We also ask that items hanging from the home and deck/patio furniture be removed, and vehicles moved away from the home. These precautions make the work move more efficiently so you can get back to enjoying your space as soon as possible

Q. Does someone have to be home at all times while work is being performed?
A. While that is up to each individual, we have had many clients let us in, show us around and note any specific items that need attention and leave for work. We are fully insured with very trustworthy crew members so you can continue your daily routine with the comfort of knowing everything will be taken care of in a safe and professional manner
